A Young Investigators Award will be presented at the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS), to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 19-24 July, 2012.

With the objective of promoting junior scientists and fostering state-of-the-art research, this award recognises the work of young researchers in sport science.

Important application criteria include:

  • Being under the age of 32 at the time of the congress; and
  • Being a PhD student or equivalent or a graduate having completed a PhD less than two years prior to the congress.

In addition to the Young Investigator Award, further support for young scientists will be provided through the ICSEMIS International Scholarship Scheme with which students, early career researchers and young professional shall be involved in the convention.

The Local Organising Committee and the partners of the International Coordinating Committee recruited around 80 scholars from developing countries and the 2008 Chinese earthquake zone.
