SDP IWG Newsletter Re-launched

The Sport for Development and Peace International Working Group (SPD IWG) has re-launched their newsletter to share new policies, programmes and best practice.

In his message in the first issue of the newsletter, Wilfried Lemke, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, says he hopes that “this newsletter will assist the SDP IWG in offering a platform for relevant partners from governmental spheres, inter-governmental organisations, sports organisations, the academic and civil society sector and other UN agencies to come together to exchange information, best practices and new programmes.” Moreover, Lemke stresses “the relevance and value of the Working Group as an opportunity to take a positive step towards the shared goal of ‘Harnessing the Power of Sport for Development and Peace’.”
