Sandra Heck re-elected to ICSSPE Executive Board
Dr. Sandra Heck was re-elected to the ICSSPE Executive Board during the 31st General Assembly held at the Olympic Park in Berlin in November for another four-year term. Sandra was put forward for the position by the Institut National de L´activité Physique et des Sports (INAPS) from Luxembourg.
Three candidates showed interest and were nominated for the only open position on the Executive Board. The Director of Education of the All-China Sports Federation, Yinghua Fan and Maryam Koushkie Jahromi, who was nominated by International Association for Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW), were the other two candidates. In her acceptance speech, Sandra promised to pick up from where she left off and “continue to support the various projects and initiatives”.
“I am very happy to have the chance to work together with the new Executive Director Patrick Stolpmann and President Uri Schaefer and the other ICSSPE colleagues coming from all over the world and fighting together for a sustainable quality of life for all through physical activity and sport,” Sandra added.
Sandra Heck, Ph.D., works at the L’Institut national de l'activité physique et des sports (INAPS) in Luxembourg. She has a Master in sport science, educational sciences and geography and is a state certified teacher, has taught at primary, secondary, vocational, and special schools. Sandra has completed her PhD at the Ruhr-University in Bochum and has thereafter worked as a postdoctoral researcher and professor of sport science at different universities in France, Australia, Germany and Luxembourg.
