The Federal Ministry of the Interior, Germany, and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Israel, in co-operation with ICSSPE, jointly organised the symposium Opportunities and Challenges in Sports - Bilateral German-Israeli Symposium.
The government members and participants of this symposium, held on 8th October 2015 in Berlin, began by looking back at 50 years of diplomatic relations between the countries and the different ways in which actors in sport and sports politics used to re-approach the people of both countries.
The second part of the symposium was devoted to a number of current issues in sports politics, namely the usage of sport for development programmes to promote community development, necessary steps to advance participation opportunities for all members of society, the need to support sport with nationwide programmes and sufficient infrastructure, and protection against corruption, illegal betting and match-fixing.
All presentations are now published and can be download here.
