ICSSPE holds 31st General Assembly in Berlin

ICSSPE held its 31st General Assembly on 11 November 2023 at Olympia Park in Berlin.

The Assembly, which meets every two years, is the highest decision-making body of ICSSPE. It gave ICSSPE’s over 170 members the opportunity to review and discuss the activities of the previous years as well as plan the next two years of work for the organisation. The Executive Director´s report, Report of the Board of Directors and the Treasurer´s report were all approved by the assembly as was the budget for 2024-2025.

The 2024-2025 Biennal Working Programme drafted by the Development Committee was also approved during the General Assembly. The 2024-2025 Working Programme builds on the current Biennal Working Programme to support sustainable development in and through sport, physical activity and physical education. The identified priority areas are Urbanisation, Demographic developments, Climate change, Resource pressure, and Green technology.

The General Assembly was preceded by meetings of the Development Committee, the Executive Board and the second joint meeting of the Executive Board and Development Committee. Among other highlights, Patrick Stolpmann, who follows Detlef Dumon in the role of Executive Director of ICSSPE, was introduced to the Assembly.
