Women and Sport in the nineteenth and twentieth Centuries

The Instituto de História Contemporânea in Lisbon, Portugal, organises a conference dealing with 'Women and Sport in the nineteenth and twentieth Centuries'. It is scheduled to take place from 20 until 21 June 2013.

The conference aims at analysing the history of women's access to sports and physical education,  and at assessing its multiple dimensions and approaches. Furthermore it seeks to provide a platform for discussion and developing further studies in the field of  the history of women’s sports.
