Sports Foreign Relations Expert

The programme, jointly supported by the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS), the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt), will offer an introduction into the work of sports experts abroad and combines scientific knowledge with practical applications. Teaching contents will include skills and knowledge necessary for planning, implementing and evaluating projects abroad as well as more general competencies in the field of sport and development cooperation. Participants will get to know international sport assistance projects of the Federal Foreign Office and the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

 

The programme consists of three phases: A five-day workshop, a six-week internship in Germany and six or more weeks of practical experience in a development project abroad.

 

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements: a graduate degree (Bachelor, Master or equivalent, preferably in Sport Science) and two years of working experience in a relevant field and/or a coaching license(A or B level, depending on discipline) and two years of work experience in a relevant field.

 

The workshop phase will take place between 12 and 16 May 2014.

 

Application deadline is 1 April 2014.
