Sport and Social Sciences

The International Society for the Social Sciences of Sport (ISSSS) will host their 3rd Conference from 21-24 September, 2011 at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

The theme of the event is Sport and Physical Culture in the Mirror of the Social Sciences and will cover topics such as:

• The Subjective, Phenomenal and Qualitative Aspects of Sport from a Philosophical Perspective;
• Theoretical and Empirical Determinants and Perspectives of the Sociology of Sport;
• Historical and Contemporary Faces of Physical Culture, Sport and Olympism;
• Psychological Approach to Sport and Physical Culture;
• Educational Sciences towards the Challenges of Contemporary Sport;
• Tourism and Recreation in Light of Social Needs – Motivations and Barriers;
• Social and Human Background of Training and Competition in Sport;
• Social and Issues of Sport Management;
• Qualitative Research in Physical Culture and Sport.

Abstracts must be received by 30 April, 2011.

The Conference is organised by the Faculty of Physical Culture of Palacky University to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Faculty, which takes place during the 2011/2012 academic year.
