Special Olympics National Games Berlin 2022

The Special Olympics National Games are Germany's largest inclusive sporting event in 2022 and will take place from 19 to 24 June 2022 under the motto #UnbeatableTogether. Almost 4,500 athletes and Unified Partners will compete in the official competitions.

The event will host a total of 20 sports. The largest sport is football with more than 800 participants, followed by athletics (700) and swimming (560). Many of these sports are Unified Sports® - competitions for teams of athletes with and without disabilities.

Contrary to the name, the National Games will not only be attended by German athletes. The organisers are looking forward to 15 international delegations from almost all continents.

By the way: For the national athletes, the participation is a requirement for a possible nomination to the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin.
