Herbert Haag Honored for Lifetime Achievements

Former ICSSPE officer Herbert Haag received the Philip Noel-Baker Research Award in recognition of his contribution to sport science and the development of ICSSPE.

 

Haag has contributed to the work of ICSSPE in various capacities since the early 1970s, especially in his long-standing membership on the Editorial Board. His contribution to the discussions around research methodologies, his holistic view of sport science, and his contribution to the development of sport pedagogy were highlighted by the presenter of the award, ICSSPE Treasurer and Haag’s friend Kari Keskinen.

 

Following the ceremony, ICSSPE President Uri Schaefer congratulated Herbert Haag and thanked him for his decades-long participation in scientifice activities in the field of comparative physical education.

 

The Philip Noel-Baker Research Award was presented on the occasion of the 2017 General Assembly, which was held on 21st April 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany.
