Routledge is publishing over 40 special journal issues on Olympic and Paralympic themes over the course of 2012-2013, scientifically investigating Olympic and Paralympic phenomena in time with the 2012 Summer London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At the recent International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS), Routledge hosted a reception for researchers and contributors to celebrate the release of the series.

The special issue journals will include topics such as ‘Olympic ethics and philosophy’, ‘Community engagement and the Olympic and Paralympic Games’, ‘Olympic, media, and society’, ‘Tourism at the Olympics’, ‘The unintended policy consequences of the Olympics and Paralympics’.
