The movie “Gold- You can do more than you think” provides an insight into the Paralympic spirit and disability sport. The award winning director Michael Hammon and his team have followed German swimmer Kirsten Bruhn, who is paralysed from the waist down, the Kenyan marathon runner Henry Wanyoike, who is blind, and Australian wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley on their way to the London Paralympic Games in 2012.

Under the patronage of the German Federal Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke, the documentary had its premiere on 26 February. The movie will also be shown during the 5th International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport taking place in Berlin from 28 until 30 May 2013.
