In celebration of Olympic Day, ICSSPE announces the next session in its Global Teaching Excellence (GTE) series, taking place on 2 July 2025 at 14:00 CEST. Organised in collaboration with the Sport Department of the Ludwigsburg University of Education, the session will be held online and is open to all interested participants.
Titled "Balancing Gold and Green: Sustainability Challenges of the Olympic Games", the panel will feature international scholars and experts discussing the complex environmental issues surrounding the Olympic Movement. From the environmental cost of large-scale infrastructure and international travel to long-term ecological impacts, the session will critically examine the sustainability of hosting the Olympic Games.
This discussion aims to explore how the pursuit of sporting excellence can align with ecological responsibility, and what steps can be taken to ensure that future Olympic Games are more environmentally conscious.
