The new strategy outline for the marketing department starts with a marketing mix. The marketing mix constitutes the set of actions, or tactics, that ICSSPE will use to promote its brand, product and services in the market. The four Ps of the marketing mix are related, and will be combined to establish the product’s position within its target markets. The mix will therefore assess the product, pricing, distribution channels (place) and promotion strategy of all current products and services. The completed marketing mix profile will then serve as basis for subsequent marketing management decisions.

The marketing plan will devise a strategy to increase ICSSPE’s visibility and develop its brand. It will also include specific marketing measures for (new) products and services. As a first step following the development of the marketing plan, ICSSPE’s marketing material and website will be updated. As in other key performance areas, ICSSPE will again put a special focus on its commitment to the regions of Africa, Latin America and Asia in printed and electronic marketing material. Region special marketing measures will be created for these areas. Using the marketing material, ICSSPE will also develop a marketing portfolio to potential sponsors, donors and partners.

Evidence of success of all marketing measures will be assessed via the media kit and marketing report and measured against ICSSPE’s marketing key performance indicators. The media kit presents promotional material and associated information about ICSSPE, its website traffic as well as other media statistics. Lastly, the annual marketing report will monitor and analyse the initial marketing plan. Based on the results, changes for the following year will be implemented.
