ICESSD Conference

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Sport Science and Development (ICESSD), in cooperation with the Sports Administration at the University of the Western Cape, will host its 2nd International Sport and Development Conference from 1-3 December, 2011, in Cape Town, South Africa.

United Nations Special Advisor to the Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Wilfred Lemke, will speak at the event and Archbishop Desmond Tutu will attend.

The focus areas of the conference are:

• Sport, peace and community development;
• Sport, HIV/AIDS and health;
• Sport and environmental sustainability;
• Sport policy and Corporate Social Responsability (CSR).

Abstracts are invited and must be received by 14 October, 2011.
