ICSSPE Member FISU (International Universities Sports Federation) has launched an innovative book in the field of well-being for Higher Education institutions.

The 148-page FISU Healthy Campus interactive e-book unveils 130 best practices from 43 certified universities out of the 94 registered in the Programme.

It will have an annual open access edition on the FISU website.

The book is divided in seven chapters, corresponding to the seven domains covered by the Healthy Campus Programme: Healthy Campus management, physical activity and sport, nutrition, disease prevention, mental and social health, risk behaviour, and environment, sustainability and social responsibility.

It presents summaries of each best practice’s main features and shows what is being achieved in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations.

Links to the respective websites and people in charge allow universities to find additional or more specific information about each initiative.

The first Healthy Campus book was launched during the first FISU Healthy Campus ceremony that awarded the certified universities taking place. The event was held in Brussels in June at the Université Libre of Brussels in the presence of 24 universities out of 43 already certified. Find out more and see the list of certified Universities HERE.

Launched by FISU in May 2020, the Healthy Campus programme is a certification process for universities in the field of health and well-being in all its aspects.

FISU has determined 100 criteria with a group of international experts, including ICSSPE, to contribute to most of the sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations.

The programme also focuses on criteria such as gender equality, reducing inequalities, increasing inclusion, clean and affordable energy, sustainable community development, responsible consumption and production, climate action, partnerships and synergies between internal and external partners on campus.

Currently, the Healthy Campus programme has 94 registered universities in the world.
