The first International Martial Arts and Combat Sports Scientific Society (IMACSSS) conference took place, June 8-10th 2012, in Genova, Italy. The conference theme is focused on ´Game, Drama, Ritual in Martial Arts and Combat Sports´.
The aim of the conference is to promote and create a unity in the scientific community that investigates martial arts and combat sports. The conference will be held in conjunction with a month long interactive exhibition in honor of the 50th anniversary of painter and Judoka Yves Klein´s death.
The topics that will be covered in relation to martial arts and combat sports are:
· Philosophy, theories, terminology
· Methods of teaching and instruction
· Physiological body movements
· Technical and tactical consideration
· Psychological, artistic and spiritual characteristics
· Historical, social and cultural dimensions
