The final call for abstracts for the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) is still open until 1 November 2011.

To be held from 19-24 July, 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland, hundreds of sessions cross-linking the distinctive areas of sport science, will provide an inclusive academic and professional scope on the different scientific as well as working areas in sport to delegates from all continents.

Greg Whyte, Chair of the ICSEMIS 2012 Scientific Committee, describes the event as “the largest sport science and medicine conference in the world”, providing a “unique multi- and inter-disciplinary approach to tackling the key issues in sport and exercise”. “The multidisciplinary nature of the programme combined with the plethora of world leading presenters make ICSEMIS a truly unique conference and a must-attend for anyone involved in sport and exercise”, Whyte continues.

Celia Brackenridge, Chair of the Local Organising Committee, says “ICSEMIS gives us all a genuine opportunity to learn from new contacts, to think differently, and to work with people from policy, industry and academia.” Since “it promises to be very special”, she hopes “that the entire sport science, physical education and sports medicine world will come on board and support the convention.”
