The Federazione Italiana Aerobica e Fitness is launching a European wide e-learning fitness project encompassing 14 countries. The project will follow the European Qualifications Framework and the health and fitness instructor competence framework that attempt to streamline qualifications across Europe. The aim of the project is to improve the qualifications of fitness professionals so they can deliver quality service and safety and match their courses with industry standards. Participating individuals in this project will learn the theoretical basis of fitness training and the applied skills needed to deliver high quality fitness training to improve the fitness and quality of life of their clients.

The University of Rome is the project coordinator and is expecting over 300 individuals to participate. Each participating country will have a national registry of qualified fitness professionals to keep track of qualifications and to allow for international mobility and collaborations. After the completion of the project, the online e-learning and website will remain an ongoing resource.
