Correlation Between Levels of Physical Activity and Use of Medication

A Brazilian research group has discovered a close correlation between physical activity levels and intake of pharmaceuticals amongst older women. 

 

 

The study, which was part of a broader survey coordinated by public administration in the State of Sao Paulo, was run by Leonardo José da Silva, Departamento de Medicina Preventiva, Universidade Federal de São Paulo and Centro de Estudos do Laboratório de Aptidão Física de São Caetano do Sul; Maria Renato Azevedo, Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Pelotas; Sandra Matsudo, Centro de Estudos do Laboratório de Aptidão Física de São Caetano do Sul; Guiomar Silva Lopes, Departamento de Medicina Preventiva, Universidade Federal de São Paulo.
