Applications open for the 15th International Session for Educators of Higher Institutes of Physical Education

The International Olympic Academy will welcome Scholars wishing to explore Olympic issues and practices and expand their knowledge on contemporary issues of world sport and especially the Olympic Movement in its premises in Ancient Olympia, Greece from 6th to 11th of July 2025, for the 15th International Session for Educators of Higher Institutes of Physical Education.

The Session’s special subject is "E-sport within the Olympic Culture" and it will include lectures from esteemed professors, workshops and a visit at the archaeological site and the Museums of Olympia. English will be the working language of the Session.

Enrollment

You can apply online at the IOA platform registration.ioa.org.gr. The final date for enrollment will be Wednesday, 30 April 2025.

Costs

Registration and participation fees amount to 950 euros per person covering all local transports related to the Session (i.e. pick up from the airport to the hotel, bus to Olympia and back to the Athens Airport), one night in Candia Hotel in Athens (https://www.candia-hotel.gr/en/) and 4 nights in Ancient Olympia in the IOA premises in twin rooms (https://www.ioa.org.gr/the-academy/premises), full board as well as a guided tour in the Archaeological site and the Museums in Ancient Olympia.

Participants are welcome to prepare a short paper related to the special subject of the Session which they will present during the Session. All short papers will be included in the Session’s proceedings (https://www.ioa.org.gr/the-academy/articles-publications).
