Registration is now open for the International Symposium of the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise (ASAPE) 2026, taking place from 15 to 17 July 2026 in Shanghai, China.
As the 19th biennial meeting of ASAPE, the symposium will bring together researchers, educators, practitioners, and students from across Asia and around the world to advance the field of adapted physical activity (APA) through scientific exchange and collaboration.
A global platform for adapted physical activity
Organised by the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise, the Asian branch of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA), the symposium serves as a key international platform for promoting inclusive physical activity and equitable opportunities for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Under the theme “New Tech, New Map,” the symposium aims to provide a high-level international platform that brings together scholars in adapted physical education and exercise across Asia to explore disciplinary frontiers and envision future development.
Hosted at the Shanghai University of Sport, the event will feature a comprehensive scientific programme including keynote lectures, symposia, and oral and poster presentations, alongside valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration within the global APA community.
Registration and participation
Participants are invited to register and secure their place at the symposium. Early-bird registration rates are available until 15 May 2026, with reduced fees for ASAPE/IFAPA members and students.
The symposium will be held fully in person, with all sessions taking place on-site in Shanghai.
Given the high demand for travel and accommodation in Shanghai during this period, participants are encouraged to complete their registration and make travel arrangements as early as possible.
