ICSSPE proudly participated in the 20th Quadrennial International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW) World Congress, held from 5–7 November 2025 in Cebu, Philippines, under the theme “Equity in Action: A Global Dialogue on the Advancement of Women and Girls in Physical Education and Sport Innovation”. The event was held under the patronage of ICSSPE, and many of our members from around the world attended, reflecting the organisation’s strong engagement with the global sport and physical education community.

ICSSPE's President Annette Hoffmann delivered a keynote on “From Tradition to Innovation: Digitalisation, Inclusion and the Future of Physical Education for Girls, Women and Indigenous Communities,” highlighting how technological innovation and inclusive strategies can transform access to sport and education for traditionally underserved groups.

Vice-President Beatriz Ferreira contributed to a panel on “Redesigning the Game: Inclusion and Adaptation of Sport Practices and Policy,” presenting strategies to make sport and physical education more inclusive and equitable. During the Congress, she was awarded Honorary Membership of IAPESGW.

Usha Nair, ICSSPE’s Development Committee member, also joined the “Redesigning the Game” panel, focusing on development-oriented approaches to overcoming structural barriers and promoting global participation of girls and women in sport.

The Congress provided an excellent platform for ICSSPE members and leadership to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and advance gender equity in sport and physical education. ICSSPE warmly commends IAPESGW for their outstanding organisation, vision, and dedication to advancing opportunities for girls and women in sport globally. ICSSPE’s presence reinforced its commitment to supporting innovative, inclusive practices and fostering international collaboration across the sport science and education community.
