In 1999, ICSSPE held the first World Summit on Physical Education which maintains to be a reference event in global discussions on the state and status of physical education. The Pre-Olympic Congress 2004 in Thessaloniki took place under her leadership and, following negotiations with the IOC, IPC and FIMS, the 1st International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport in 2008 in Guangzhou. After a devastating tsunami had hit large parts of Asia, Gudrun Doll-Tepper used the International Year of Sport and Physical Education 2005, to develop an inclusive education programme for young professionals in the field of sport for development.

According to the statutes, Gudrun Doll-Tepper’s presidency ended in 2008 but members and partners continue to be grateful for the legacy which she left behind.
