In celebration of the Olympic Day, ICSSPE will host a new Global Teaching Excellence (GTE) online session on July 2, at 14:00 CEST, in collaboration with the Sport Department from the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
As part of its Agenda 2020+5, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has committed to addressing sustainability in the planning and delivery of the Olympic Games. In recent years, the first tangible outcomes of these efforts have begun to emerge, most notably with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which made significant strides in promoting sustainability compared to previous editions.
Nevertheless, achieving sustainability goals remains a major challenge for an event of this scale. The Olympic Games require extensive infrastructure, attract millions of visitors, and involve vast numbers of athletes, officials, and media representatives, each of which has a considerable environmental impact.
In this panel, international scholars who specialize in the Olympic Games and environmental sustainability will share their latest research and perspectives.
