MINEPS VI 2017

The Sixth International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport, MINEPS VI, was held in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 13 to 15 July 2017.

On the basis of the Declaration of Berlin (2013), the International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport (2015), and the United Nations Agenda 2030 as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) MINEPS VI was expected to form a basis for measurable action of governments and the sport movement.

ICSSPE had been invited by UNESCO to co-moderate the preparatory activities of the MINEPS VI Programme Committee.

MINEPS VI was structured around three main themes:

1) Developing a comprehensive vision of inclusive access for all;
2) Maximizing the contributions of sport to sustainable development and peace;
3) Protecting the integrity of sport.

It was expected to produce four main outcomes:

(i) Endorsement of the Follow-up Framework for the Declaration of Berlin and the new International Charter;
(ii) Recognition of available resources and identification of gaps;
(iii) Clarification of areas where and how the sport sector can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs/Agenda 2030;
(iv) Adoption of an outcome document which will provide a basis for future oriented action by all stakeholders.

ICSSPE was organising a Poster Exhibition which provided further opportunities for participants to showcase, share and discuss their work during the Conference. For more information about the Poster Exhibition please follow the link.
