On 12–13 November, ICSSPE participated in the transnational meeting of the European project KESCAB, hosted by Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid. The project, led by TAFISA, aims to develop a global online hub to promote knowledge, skills, and capacity building in the Sport for All sector.

As leader of Work Package 2 (WP2), ICSSPE presented its strategic approach to scaling up the delivery of knowledge and experience sharing and capacity building. WP2 is a core step in the project, focusing on mapping and aligning existing programmes and initiatives across the Sport for All landscape. ICSSPE’s work includes:
  • Translation of capacity building content to ensure accessibility across countries and languages.
  • Complementary modules to enrich the learning experience and address gaps in existing programmes.
  • Learning Pathways designed to guide users through structured, progressive learning opportunities.
  • Capacity Building Delivery Plan outlining how programmes will be implemented and coordinated.
  • Train-the-Trainer Program to empower facilitators and extend the reach of capacity-building initiatives.
ICSSPE is particularly well positioned to lead WP2 due to its extensive research expertise in physical activity, sport, and education, aiming to improve quality of life and health for all people. Its network of universities and academic institutions also strengthens the project by supporting evidence-based mapping and alignment of existing programmes.

The KESCAB project is currently advancing the development of the web platform, expected to be completed in February 2026. A pilot phase will follow to test the platform, with the official launch planned for May 2026 at the TAFISA World Congress in Prague.

During the meeting, consortium partners worked on the communication strategy for the pilot phase announcement, the platform presentation, and the project’s final dissemination activities. The discussions emphasized fostering collaboration and synergies with organisations and individuals interested in engaging with the KESCAB Hub.
