Final Conference of GAP Women Project in Barcelona

On 20 May 2025, ICSSPE attended the closing event of the Erasmus+ project GAP Women – Gender Equality in Sport, held in Barcelona. The conference marked the culmination of a three-year collaborative initiative aimed at advancing gender equity in sport through practical and strategic tools for sports organisations across Europe.

 

Hosted by the Department of Social and International Action of the Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (UFEC), the project coordinator, the event brought together project partners, experts, and advocates to share outcomes, discuss policy impact, and celebrate progress made in integrating gender perspectives into the management and leadership of sport federations.

 

The GAP Women project focused on equipping sports organisations with concrete resources, including an online educational course and a comprehensive manual of gender strategies. These tools are designed to support institutions in promoting inclusive environments, ensuring women’s participation at all levels of sport. ICSSPE was responsible for conducting a literature review and develop a stakeholder mapping.The resources are now publicly available on the project website: Home - GAPWomen.
