On February 3rd, ICSSPE participated in the PACTE+ Academic Workshop in Munich, an event dedicated to fostering active and sustainable urban environments across Europe. Organized by the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the workshop brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to explore key strategies for promoting active lifestyles in cities.

The event featured discussions and presentations aimed at identifying the challenges and opportunities for building more active urban communities. Some of the key topics included:

  • Impact Assessment & City Insights – A presentation of research findings, including the impact assessment results and key takeaways from interviews with city representatives involved in the PACTE+ project.
  • Munich's Mobility Strategy 2035 – A deep dive into Munich’s long-term vision for mobility, highlighting stakeholder collaboration, implementation strategies, and challenges related to urban movement and transport.
  • Collaborative Reflections & Recommendations – Group discussions focusing on actionable recommendations to support cities in fostering active environments through policy and infrastructure development.

ICSSPE is a PACTE+ partner, a project dedicated to empowering cities to create healthier, more active schools and communities. By participating in this workshop, ICSSPE continues to support the development of evidence-based strategies that enhance urban well-being and encourage physical activity as part of everyday life.
