ICSSPE General Assembly

New Executive Board and Development Committee Elected

During the 30th General Assembly on 12th May 2021, the delegates elected members of the Executive Board and the Development Committee.

 

The newly elected Executive Board is composed of the following officers:

 

  • Uri Schaefer, President (International Council for Coaching Excellence)
  • César Torres, Vice President (International Association for the Philosophy of Sport)
  • Annette Hofmann, Vice President (Deutscher Turner-Bund, International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport)
  • Jari Kanerva, Treasuer (Finnish Society of Sport Sciences)

Further members:

  • Katongo Bwalya (National Organisation for Women in Sport Zambia Physical Activity and Recreation)
  • Gerald Fritz (Deutsche Olympische Akademie)
  • Sandra Heck (International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport)
  • Martin Holzweg (European Physical Education Association)
  • David Legg (International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity)
  • Maria Beatriz Rocha Ferreira (International Association of Physical Education & Sport for Girls & Women)

The newly elected Development Committee comprises the following officers:

  • Verena Burk (International University Sport Federation)
  • Stiliani Chroni (WomenSport International)
  • Ruth Crabtree (World Association for Sport Management)
  • Maria Dinold (International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity)
  • Stefka Djobova (National Sports Academy "Vassil Levski")
  • Usha Nair (Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education)
  • Mickey Scheinowitz (Tel Aviv University)
  • Junko Tahara (Japan Society of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences)

Almost 100 members participated in ICSSPE’s first online General Assembly which was meant to be held on the occasion of the International German Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig. The Festival was cancelled because of the ongoing Pandemic.

 

The re-elected President closed the meeting by saying that the General Assembly with participation from all continents has given ICSSPE strength to achieve its mission and to continue developing the global organisation.
