UNESCO Charter of Physical Education and Sport

ICSSPE has been closely involved with the revision of the UNESCO Charter of Physical Education and Sport, which was first ratified in 1978. One recent and important form of this involvement was participation in an Experts Meeting in Medellin, Colombia, which took place from 8^th -10^th September 2014.  Organised jointly by UNESCO and Coldeportes (the Colombian national government department of sports), this event drew together representatives from around the world, including a number of ICSSPE member organisations. Detlef Dumon, Executive Director, and Richard Bailey attended on behalf of ICSSPE, itself.

The meeting was characterised by an unusual degree of collegiality and co-operation, and was an outstanding example of partnership between governmental and non-governmental agencies in action.
