Communities and Crisis
06/06/2014 14:00

ICSSPE is offering six bursaries for the seventh edition of “Communities and Crisis – Inclusive Development through Sport,” set to take place from 22 to 28 October 2014 in Rheinsberg, Germany.

The bursaries cover 100% of the participation costs of the seminar, including registration fee, accommodation and meals. Recipients will be responsible for their own travel expenses.

The seminar is aimed at students, coaches, social workers and psychologists who are interested in using sport as a tool for development. Participants are, among others, coming from the Erasmus Mundus Master in Adapted Physical Activity at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, and the master’s programme in Social Work at Kennesaw State University, USA.

Through this programme, participants will learn to use sport as positive means of physiological and psychological rehabilitation, both through practical, hands-on workshops as well as through theoretical learning sessions. Particular attention is paid to stressing the importance of cultural sensitivity and the implementation of appropriate monitoring and evaluation techniques.

Following in the footsteps of previous seminars, ICSSPE once again organises the seminar in collaboration with Kennesaw State University, KU Leuven and Freie Universität Berlin. The Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany and the Fürst Donnersmarck-Foundation support the event.

Please send your applications to Katrin Koenen at kkoenenaticsspe.org and include the following documents:

    - Letter of motivation and explanation of need for financial support (1 p.)
    - Letter of recommendation by superior or professor (1 p.)
    - C.V. (1 p.).

Everyone is invited to apply for the bursaries; however, applicants from least developed countries will be treated preferentially. We also encourage applications by persons with disabilities.

Recipients will be required to make contributions to ICSSPE’s daily social media and communication activities during the seminar.

Deadline for application is 25 July 2014.
