Former ICSSPE President in Berlin

On 4 November 2013 former ICSSPE President Paavo Komi visited the Executive Office in Berlin.

 

In the course of preparing his biography, Paavo Komi came to the ICSSPE Office as one of the last destinations in order to collect documents that are witness and proofs of his long-standing scientific career in various positions. During his stay in Berlin, Paavo Komi met also with his successor Gudrun Doll-Tepper, who served as ICSSPE President from 1997 until 2008 and is now Vice President of the German Olmypic Sports Confederation. Together with ICSSPE Executive Director Detlef Dumon they discussed current developments in international sport science as well as ICSSPE's long-standing cooperation with the International Olympic Committee and UNESCO.

 

Paavo Komi served as ICSSPE President from 1991 until 1996. He is professor emiritus and worked as Director of the Neuromuscular Research Center at the University of Jyväskyla, Finland.
