Now available: Annual Report 2012

The UNOSDP has released its Annual Report 2012.

 

The document revises the main activities conducted under the leadership of the UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace in 2012 in the areas of policy work, partnership building and coordination, as well as the Youth Leadership Programme.

 

The report contains an overview of important developments including the following:

 

a) The Human Rights Council continued its engagement in relation to sport with the panel discussion on “Human Rights through Sport and the Olympic Ideals”;

b) The Geneva Group of Friends held their first meeting in 2012;

c) The inaugural ‘UNOSDP Youth Leadership Camp’ was held in Doha in January 2012.

 

The Youth Leadership Programme was launched in 2012 with the aim to support  youths who are active in their communities by implementing projects. The programme provides the participants with access to theoretical and practical training  in order to improve both their projects and their own professional progress.
