TPCSG Conference Declaration

The Global Conference on Traditional Physical Culture, Sports and Games ended with a declaration endorsing ICSSPE's International Position Statement on Physical Education from 2010. The statement  incudes a call for governments to engage in recognizing, promoting and supporting the implementation of physical education policies and programmes. The Global Conference stressed the significance of physical education as most effective instrument in order to provide children and youth with the necessary skills, values and knowlegde as basis for a sustained participation in physical activity and sport.

 

Under the patronage of ICSSPE, the Trim And Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA), International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW), International Traditional Sports & Games Association (ITSGA), Federation Internationale D'education Phisique (FIEP) and International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport (ISHPES) the conference took place in Amravati (India) from 15 to 17 January 2013. Organised by The Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal (Institute of Physical Education of Amravati) and the National Association of Physical Education and Sports (NAPES) it aimed at bringing together independent research scholars, institutes, universities and organisations working in the field of traditional physical culture, traditional sports training schools, groups of traditional martial artists and folk dances from different countries.
