Seminar Programme Available

The programme for the international seminar Communities and Crisis – Inclusive Development Through Sport is available on the ICSSPE website.

 

From 21-26 November, 2011, practitioners and scientists from international universities and organisations, including the Swiss Academy for Development (SAD); PlayAble; Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support (PS Centre) of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC); Freie Universität Berlin, Germany; Roehampton University and Loughborough University, UK; University of Rome Foro Italico, Italy, will address an interdisciplinary package and share experiences on how sport can be a useful tool for development in crisis and social problem areas.

 

At the Hotel HausRheinsberg in Rheinsberg, Germany, presenters will deliver theoretical and hands-on learning sessions on topics including:

 

  • Trauma, trauma relief and debriefing;
  • Community based psycho-social support;
  • Sport activities for different age groups;
  • From individual survivors to a surviving community;
  • Gender and sport - challenges in crisis areas;
  • Project funding and entrepreneurship;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of psycho-social sport programmes.

 

As an augmentation of ICSSPE`s seminars on Sport in Post-Disaster Intervention, this event will not only provide an interdisciplinary training package for beginners but also for experienced workers in the field of sport and development.
