Submissions for open parallel sessions to be held at the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS 2012) will be accepted until 1 May, 2011.

Hosts and organisers of the Convention are looking forward to receiving diverse applications from every professional sector and academic discipline associated with sport, sport science and physical education, which will attract a wide range of delegates and participants.

“I hope that the entire sport science, physical education and sports medicine world will come on board and support the Convention. It promises to be very special!”, saysCelia Brackenridge, Chair of the Local Organising Committee. “With themes such as Athlete Welfare and Prevention of Injuries, which may be discussed from various sport science perspectives, people from different academic areas shall be drawn together and be encouraged to attend sessions they might not usually go to.”

Major attention, in developing the scientific programme, is also given to the principles of inclusiveness, diversity and equal opportunities. ICSEMIS will be established “as the ‘Convention of choice’ every four years for all those working in sport-related academic and professional roles”, states Brackenridge.
