Join the Seventeenth International Conference on Sport & Society 2026

The Seventeenth International Conference on Sport & Society will take place from 11–12 June 2026 at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, hosted by the Lillehammer Olympic & Paralympic Studies Centre. This annual hybrid event brings together academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students from around the world to explore the evolving role of sport in contemporary society.

 

The 2026 conference theme, “Innovation, Transformation, Contestation: Can Sport Keep Up with Society’s Future?”, invites participants to reflect on how sport must adapt to social, cultural, and technological change.

 

Call for Papers Now Open

 

Researchers and professionals in sport science, education, management, and related fields are invited to submit their proposals. The conference welcomes a wide range of perspectives under four thematic streams:

 

Accepted presenters will have the opportunity to share their research in person or online, and to submit their work for consideration in the International Journal of Sport & Society.
