UAB Sports Research Institute of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (IRE-UAB) was created in January 2020 as a UAB institute with an interdisciplinary nature that brings together, coordinates and potentiates ongoing and new sport-related research lines, educational programmes and knowledge transfer activities. It is based on the rich UAB historical capital in sport-related academic activities and university services for more than 30 years. Its mission is to contribute to the creation of a healthy, cohesive and sustainable society in a global and changing context and respond to the needs of our economic and social environment, through interdisciplinary research in sport, knowledge transfer and the training of professionals. IRE-UAB gathers 41 academic staff from 15 UAB Departments, more than 20 trainee research, research support staff and project collaborators, and a strong local and international network of institutional academic relations. IRE-UAB carries out research in 11 specific areas based on interdisciplinarity and social relevance. Research lines range from physical activity to communication, high performance, education in sports values, sport management and law, sustainability, history or data engineering. In addition to research, the UAB offers a wide range of doctoral, undergraduate and postgraduate activities in sports and Olympics, as well as other educational and dissemination activities in order to transfer knowledge to a wider audience and other players in the sports sector.

The World Flying Disc Federation is the international sports federation responsible for world governance of flying disc (frisbee) sports, including Ultimate, Beach Ultimate, Disc Golf, Freestyle, Guts and Overall Events. WFDF is a federation of 90 member associations that represent flying disc sports and their athletes in over 88 countries. The World Snowboard Federation (WSF), founded in 2002 in Prague, is the world's only umbrella organization for snowboarding with a membership comprising 45 national snowboard associations across the globe. In 2017, the WSF moved to Innsbruck, Austria and adopted its new strategy focussing on grassroots, youth and Sport for All within the culture of snowboarding. The Vision and Mission of the WSF is to promote the sport of snowboarding as a recreational and leisure sport (Sport for All) in the interest of all snowboarders - especially as a healthy activity for children and youth. The WSF gives a fresh perspective to the mass market to aide in the spread of the snowboarding culture by information and operational programs and projects. Through exchange of information between its members and the collaboration with academic research projects the WSF maintains, increases and diffuses knowledge of Physical Education in Snowboarding and strengthens grass roots snowboarding.
