The project aims to enhance the leadership capabilities of young leaders to use grassroots sport as a tool to transform communities in Southern Africa. The project will immerse young and diverse leaders (academics and practitioners) in a cross-cultural learning environment supported and mentored by international experts, to empower them with the tools needed to harness the power of sport to transform communities.

This initiative builds up to the previously supported Participation Programme “Empowering future leaders in international grassroots sport” where the participants spearheaded the delivery of the toolkit “Let’s Get Moving Together – A Toolkit for Grassroots Sport.” This cohort, which will emphasise a blend of young academics and practitioners, will take a deeper dive into current issues confronting grassroots sport leaders. The outcome will be reflected on the adjusted version of the toolkit to further equip grassroots sport leaders.
