Social Engagement After Civil War

The International Platform on Sport and Development reports on a coach education initiative being conducted in Mannar, a remote region of Sri Lanka.

The programme is coordinated by the Swiss Scort Foundation in co-operation with FC Basel 1893, Switzerland, and the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, England, and aims to train participants as role models and proactive community members who then use football as a tool to support children in their surroundings.

The programme has highlighted the value of having multiple stakeholders to guarantee sustainability.
