UNESCO - initiator of the QPE Programme - have published two new resources: a policy brief and a policy advocate toolkit for inclusive Quality Physical Education.

The publications aim to support governments in developing a physical education policy that supports children in gaining important physical, social and emotional life skills.

Making the case for inclusive Quality Physical Education policy development: a policy brief

The policy brief gives evidence of the importance and the possible gains of quality physical education. It shows the positive results intersectional partnerships as well as low cost/high impact QPE programmes had in several countries, which can be used to support recovery efforts after the pandemic.

The document contains both specific recommendations and resources to support their implementation. The PDF can be found here.

How to influence the development of Quality Physical Education policy: a policy advocacy toolkit for youth

This toolkit helps young people and youth organisations to contribute to QPE policy making by providing general guidelines for setting up a successful political advocacy campaign. It includes a case for youth policy engagement, techniques which assist in successful advocacy strategies as well as checklists to monitor progress of such policy development.

The PDF can be found here
