Networking and Strategic Planning for Sport and Development

From 1-3 December, 2011, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Sport Science and Development (ICESSD) will host its 2nd International Sport and Development Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

The conference will focus on networking and strategic planning in the field of sport, development and peace, especially in the areas of Sport and Peace; Sport/Physical Activity and Health; Sport, CSR and Policy and Sport and Environment.

Together with Marion Keim Lees, University of the Western Cape, South Africa, ICSSPE Executive Director Detlef Dumon will chair the panel Opportunities & Challenges for Networking in Sport and Development and Peace. In this panel representatives from governments, civil society and academia will explore and discuss achievements and challenges of, the need for research, academic programmes and hands-on training as well as the perspectives through global and interdisciplinary networking.
