From 13-14 August, 2012, the conference The Olympic Games: Meeting New Global Challenges will take place at the Oxford University Club, UK.
Held on the days after the conclusion of the 2012 Olympic Games, this conference seeks to analyse outstanding features of the Games. In this context, international speakers will discuss themes including:
- Olympism and Realpolitik;
- The immediate legacy of London 2012;
- High performance sport and issues of doping;
- Commercialism and the Games;
- 24/7 media and the Olympic movement.
Organisers of the event are the University of Oxford; the University of Central Lancashire, both UK; and Routledge Publishers.
