Havana, Cuba, to Host International Events

Havana, Cuba, will be the host city for a series of international events on physical activity, physical education and youth sport in 2012.

 

The first one is the World Convention on Child Psychomotricity and Child Early Development, held from 1-4 February, 2012, by the World Education and Child Development Organization (OMEEDI) and the National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Cuba. The official languages of the convention will be Spanish and English.

The next event, being held from 6-9 November, 2012, is the 2nd World Forum on Physical Education and School Sport which includes the 3rd Ibero-American and Caribbean Summit on Physical Education and School Sport. Themes that will be addressed include:

 

  • Basic competitions through physical education;
  • Infant motor skill from 0-6 years;
  • Curricular perspectives of physical education;
  • Strategies for health promotion in female and male children and young people: The school and the physical activity;
  • Assessment of quality in physical education;
  • Physical education for students with special educational needs.

 

The third event, which will take place parallel to the last one mentioned above, is the International Workshop on Physical Activity and Quality of Life. It includes the following topics:

 

  • Physical activity, working capacity, health and social integration;
  • Physical activity and aging;
  • Physical activity and non-transmitted diseases;
  • Fitness: an alternative for health;
  • Infrastructure of outdoor sports and open spaces;
  • Mega-events.

 

The organisers of these events are again the National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Cuba, the Latin American Association of Physical Education and School Sport (AIEFDE), and the Cuban Physical Activity Network (RAFA-PANA). Official languages will be Spanish and English. Papers must be submitted by 31 July, 2012.
