Former IASI President Passed Away

Gretchen Ghent, former president of the International Association for Sports Information (IASI), suddenly passed away at the end of October.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, Ghent was a champion swimmer winning a gold medal at the Pan American Games in Mexico City, Mexico. In 1976, she was inducted into the Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame, USA.

Besides her position as IASI President, for many years Ghent was a member of the ICSSPE Associations´ Board and Editorial Board.

She worked on a number of projects involving sports history and competition, including the development of the Scholarly Sports Sites, a reference website to other sport research-relevant websites.
