Congresses on Physical Activity and Performance

The Department of Biology of Physical Activity in the Faculty of Sport and Health Science of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, will host two congresses on physical activity and performance in the upcoming months.

 

The first is the International Congress on Enhancement of Physical Activity of Children and Youth from 7-9 April, 2011.

 

Sessions will be held to the following topics:

 

  • Enhancing physical activity in early education;
  • Enhancing physical activity and health in school physical education;
  • Measurement of physical activity;
  • Training adaptations in children and youth.

The second event is the 2nd International Congress on Soldier’s Physical Performance, which will be held from 4-7 May, 2011, in cooperation with the Finnish Defence Forces and Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM).

 

Main topics of the congress include:

 

  • Biological approach to the performance of a soldier
  • Medical approaches to the performance of a soldier
  • Behavioral approach to the performance of a soldier
