Conferences on Science and Football

In the first half of 2011 three conferences that will discuss the importance of scientific knowledge for football will be held in Malaysia, the United Kingdom and in Italy.

 

The 4th Asian Football Confederation Conference on Science and Football Medicine, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will take place from 18-20 March, 2011.

 

Objectives of the event are:

  • Excellent high level international educational platform – Football Science & Medicine;
  • Update on modern concepts of medical, health and technology in care of football players;
  • “Low cost high output" conference: AFC policy of development through education.

 

The thematic areas of the event are: Sports Medicine, Traumatology, Orthopaedic, Physiotherapy, Anti-Doping, Sports Radiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Nutrition, Youth Development, Coaching Methodology, and Sociology.  

The main topics of a Science and Football Conference which will be held on 27 March, 2011 at the University of East London, United Kingdom, are:

  • Sports Science;
  • Coaching;
  • Sports Medicine;
  • Sports Marketing;
  • Sports Technology;
  • Performance Analysis.

 

In Palermo, Italy, the 1st International Conference - Science and Football will take place from 15-17 April, 2011.

 

The organiser, Scuola dello Sport Sicilia, invites anyone who is interested in football to participate in the event. Abstracts to this conference are invited and must be received by 27 February, 2011.

 

Undergraduate and post graduate students who have submitted and presented posters can compete for a Young Researchers Award.
