Abstracts for the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport 2012 (ICSEMIS) may now be submitted to the Scientific Committee.

Greg Whyte, Chair of the ICSEMIS 2012 Scientific Committee, is looking forward to the submission of many high quality, multi-disciplinary papers from across all continents that, according to the conference theme Creating a Learning Legacy, will provide the platform for a learning legacy.

According to Whyte “a wealth of high profile speakers from across the globe already confirmed for the conference” and a respective programme with top-class keynotes and parallel sessions will soon be published on the ICSEMIS website. “In addition, the social and cultural programme is taking shape and promises to offer an outstanding experience for delegates.”

Submissions for either oral and/or poster presentations can be made via the convention website and should address one of the convention sub-themes:

  • Athlete Welfare;
  • Eligibility and Inclusion;
  • Elite Performance;
  • Governance and Policy;
  • International Sports Development and Management;
  • Major Sporting Events;
  • Pedagogy;
  • Physical Activity and Health;
  • Sports Medicine and Injury Prevention;
  • Sport and Faith.

The convention will take place from 19-24 July, 2011, in Glasgow, Scotland. It will “attract scientists, educators and practitioners from disciplines within sport and exercise related studies, from sport and faith to performance genetics. The multidisciplinary nature of the programme, combined with the plethora of world leading presenters, makes ICSEMIS a truly unique conference and a must-attend for anyone involved in sport and exercise”, explains Whyte.

Deadline for abstract submissions is 1 November, 2011 at 24.00hrs (GMT).
