“Move and Improve?” A Neuroscientific Rationale for Physical Activity and Exercise as Means of Enhancing Academic Performance

Relatively little inter- and cross-disciplinary work has been conducted on understanding the relationship between physical activity and academic performance. Against this backdrop, ICSSPE is organising a symposium of experts entitled “Move and Improve?” A Neuroscientific Rationale for Physical Activity and Exercise as Means of Enhancing Academic Performance from 25 to 27 September 2014 in Berlin, Germany.

The aim of the symposium is a sharing of knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and the development of an agenda to initiate further collaborative research and applied models in the areas of sport and education. Speakers and other participants will include experts in the fields of physical activity and neuroscience as well as representatives from the education, sport, business and politics sectors.

An envisaged output of the symposium is also the production of an edited book of contributions and perspectives on the topic from various disciplines.

The symposium is scheduled to be held at Hotel Scandic Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.
